Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To celebrate this, the exhibition „Memento“ will be on view from June 28 to October 12 2025. The museum is presenting more than one hundred contemporary photographs from its collection, including works by Sascha Weidner.
The exhibition shows how the collection of museum has developed over the past 25 years. Every photograph is itself a memento. Each work can be read as both a record of a specific moment in time and as a marker in the museum’s own history. Together, these works form a living archive that mirrors the changing concerns of photography and society alike.
Sascha Weidner’s work deals with the creation of a radical subjective pictorial world. Marked by sensibility, intimacy, and heightened perception, his photographs open a poetic space between inner and outer worlds.
