FOR THAT BRIEF TIME

Before we make our escape
into the great unknown
you should know a few things…
As for how I cared for you
and mourned the loss of time
that appeared to never end
within our arms
Yet arms hold not the time 
that lingers in our breaths
Too early and too late
it seems at times
to know what we were together 
and meant
for that brief time

William Cody Maher

Henrik Strömberg (SE, 1970) lives and works in Berlin. He holds an M.A. in Fine Art Photography and History of Photography from FAMU, Academy of Performing Arts Prague, Czech Republic and a BA in Fine Art from Camberwell College of Art, London, UK. Strömberg works across media, investigating his topics of interest by deconstructing and reconstructing the image and narratives in all of its declinations – from analog to digital, from sculptural to pictorial- and with overarching, large-scale spatial installations where photography, sculpture and painting develop around topics such as metamorphic changes, transformation, otherness and societal paradigms while comprising the interaction between sculptural volumes, architectural vocabulary and the use of object trouvée and repurposed materials. Strömberg – consecutively – exhibited institutionally in Sweden, U.K., Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Scotland, Japan, USA, South Korea and Martinique.

William Cody Maher ( San Francisco, 1950) is an American writer, poet, performance artist, and actor. He has published several books of poetry and prose, notably Geisterstadt (2006), Spielsachen (2009), Venetian Blinds (2016), The Return (2020), and Confessions of a Makeup Artist (2024). He lives and works in Berlin.
