An image tells more at first glance. The exhibition „S T O R I E S behind the photographic image +„ looks at the visual and photographic surface to explore the layers of meaning, processes, and contexts that shape an image. These include the intentions of the photographers, their research, technical production decisions, and the stories they are telling. Often, more than one image is used. For some artists, the serial work is not merely a working principle; it also enables a multi-layered exploration of coherent actions and temporal contexts from various perspectives. At the same time, the photographic stories in the exhibition are presented within an unexpected spatial and cross-media narrative.
Other artists included in the exhibition are Viktoria Binschtok, Thomas Demand, Niklas Goldbach, Sven Johne, Allan Kaprow, Felix Kiessling, Barbara Probst, Susa Templin, and Rosemarie Trockel.
Several events will take place during the course of the exhibition:

June 14: Guided tour with talk at 4 pm
June 28: The collector, Alexandra Hackelsberger, is present from 2 to 6 pm
